Institutes (EI).These are organizations that have proven track record
in the provision of examinations and have excellent reputation.
Currently there are only two accredited examination providers –
The Dutch foundation, ‘Exameninstituut voor Informatica’
(EXIN) and the UK ‘Information Systems Examination board’
(ISEB). EXIN and ISEB cooperate to offer a full range of ITSM qualifications at following three levels – Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management Practitioner Certificate in IT Service Management Manager Certificate in IT Service ManagementFoundation certificate is designed to provide a foundation level of knowledge in IT Service Management. It is aimed at all personnel who wish to become familiar with the best practices in IT Service Management as defined in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) guidelines. In particular, it enables people to understand the terminology used within the ITIL approach. The Practitioner Certificates are aimed at those who take part within their organization in managing and optimizing specific within the IT Service Management discipline, and performing the activities that belong to those processes. Practitioner’s certificates are provided for several IT Service Management processes, or clusters of processes, like for Release Management, Change Management, Configuration Management etc. The Manager’s certificate is aimed at those who need to demonstrate a capability of managing ITIL based solutions across the breadth of the Service Management subjects. To be eligible for giving Manager’s certificate, a Foundations certification along with accredited training course is a prerequisite. ![]() |
